Wir freuen uns, 2024 mit Prafull Sawant einen international bekannten realistischen Künstler im Bereich Aquarell bei uns begrüßen zu dürfen.

Prafull Sawant gilt seit langem als einer der bedeutendsten realistischen Künstler der Welt. Er ist vor allem für seine atmosphärischen Landschaften im Freien bekannt, die das Licht einfangen, um die Stimmung und den Raum der Szene zu schaffen. Er ist weltweit sehr gefragt – er hat über 20 verschiedene Länder besucht, um Demonstrationen, Workshops, Vorträge und Ausstellungen durchzuführen.

Er hatte 15 Einzelausstellungen und über 100 internationale Ausstellungen auf Einladung, mit 45 Auszeichnungen und Stipendien auf nationaler und staatlicher Ebene. Er war der erste Künstler aus Indien, der den Preis der 148. Internationalen Ausstellung der American Watercolour Society in New York gewann.
Prafulls Werke wurden in beliebten internationalen Aquarellzeitschriften und -büchern vorgestellt, darunter Aquarell-Künstler und ArtLife.

Day by day Program :
1st day – Cityscape /Architectural – 3 point perspective
9.00 am to 1.00 pm Demonstration with discussion
1.00 pm to 2.00 pm Lunch
2.00 pm to 4.00 pm Participants will do own paintings and Prafull Sawant will guide personally
4.00 to 6.00 pm. Discussion about Prafull Sawant´s watercolor works which has been done in Last Workshops in Europe and Other Countries at on location.
2nd day – Landscape of Lane
9.00 am to 1.00 pm Demonstration with discussion
1.00 pm to 2.00 pm Lunch
2.00 pm to 6.00 pm Participants will do their own paintings and Prafull Sawant will guide personally
3rd day – Architectural Waterscape (Sea, lac ,River)

Explanation about workshop :
1. What is aimed ?
I will show to the participants how we will approach composition and how to simplify a location in a painting with atmosphere . Because the composition (design) of forms, and composition of light and shade is the soul of a painting. By using my own paintings I describe how to design a composition utilizing space and light.
2. Which skills are developed?
A. How to choose the subject in the Architectural landscape
B. The choice of compositions in the Architectural landscape
C. How to correctly build a composition with perspective
D. How to use and choose color scheme in paintings
E. We will discuss the importance of human figures in the landscape
F. How to draw cars, people in the urban landscape with drawing and aerial perspective
G. When to use which brush and why
H. How to keep freshness of watercolor
3. What techniques do we learn?
A . Preparation and development of focal point (attraction point ) in a painting/ main highlight and the compositional center of the picture.
B. We will learn the role of warm and cool colors,
C. How to control water and learn about the quantity of pigments
D. We will learn tonal value of light (white), mid tone(grey) and dark tone (dark) in the composition (Design) and their arrangement.
E. How to capture the tonal value to get the live lighting effects.
F. Planning of aerial perspective in the Architectural landscape
G. What is the main actor, the supporting actor and how can they be connected
H. Role of soft and sharp edges in a painting
I. How to use watercolor flow, patches and impact
J. Movement of brushing, atmosphere, mood, texture, use of line, dot, patch, mass tone and weather conditions
K. About the need of details and where
L. Cheating with tonal values and needs
M. Use of papers grain and difference of result, brush and colors descriptions
4. Which paintings will be done?
We will see my watercolor demonstration with discussion on each day morning session. After the afternoon session all participants will work and I will instruct individually and discuss.
5. Workshop Time:
Each day morning session: My Demonstration 9 am to 1 pm (1 pm to 2 pm Lunch)
Afternoon session 2 pm to 6 pm Participants will do own paintings. I will guide personally.
6. Oppurtunity to see original works of Prafull Sawant:
I will bring 30 to 40 Plain air Watercolor Original paintings which were painted during my last workshops in European countries to show the participants and to discuss composition, lighting, tonal value, perspective, different approaches with watercolors.
7. Slide Show Presentation :
We will see my various works as part of a slide show and discuss other things. This session will take place over 1 1/2 to 2 hours on any given evening.
